Tarkett has been a sustainable leader in the resilient flooring space for decades, but they weren’t getting the credit that they deserved for all the good that they were doing. From establishing a take-back program to divert old flooring away from the landfill to radical material transparency, Tarkett was making great strides for human and environmental health. Our job was to craft a compelling message and share it to put them a step ahead.
At Tarkett, social and environmental responsibility aren’t add-ons. They’re woven, stamped and sealed into everything we do. But more
importantly, we don’t just say this, we prove it.
When we say our products are consciously made, we mean we set new standards for sustainability. We mean we launched the first full-scale
flooring recycling program in 1994, started third-party verification two decades ago, and became phthalate-free while others were still debating
phthalate safety. We mean changes Tarkett made a decade ago are today’s standards for corporate sustainability.
Now, we’re setting tomorrow’s standards. That’s why 97% of the raw materials we use are assessed against Cradle to Cradle principles for
human and environmental health. Our floors are made with low VOC materials and recycled content. We reduce our resource consumption with
closed-loop water systems and renewable energy, and we have 14 plants that send zero waste to landfill.
When we say total transparency, we show it. We mean revealing raw materials content down to 100 parts per million in every floor to provide a
sustainable foundation for our customers to build on every step after. Because sustainability is a collaborative effort, and net positive impacts,
closed loops, and a circular economy all depend on what you start with.
When we say social and environmental responsibility are core to our business, we don’t just talk about it, we design floors to create healthy, safe
spaces inside our walls and out. We make sure that from before our materials touch the factory floor to the moment you walk through your door,
there’s proof in every step.
